This portrait of Antarctic sea life holds a deep significance for me. The story I wrote and illustrated for this magazine highlights my return to Antarctica as an artist in 2017. But, it was in 1992, as a graduate student in Marine Science, that I first encountered these creatures and was inspired to combine science and art.
