Projects|Plankton Rescue
Kirsten has joined forces with Chad Widmer to assist phytoplankton and zooplankton worldwide. We need you in uniform!

Here are Chad and Kirsten at work: Kirsten [left] sketching one of the larger plankton that has just been released;
Chad [right] releasing a rehabilitated plankter with his bare hand, it also shows the scale of plankton to human.

Their internationally recognized
Marine Plankton Rescue Unit* rescues stranded plankton on beaches around the world. Coastlines are particularly hazardous zones for plankton, as the crushing waves toss the helpless organisms upon beaches to become scavenged by predators or mummified in the scorching sun.
"No plankton too small, we rescue them all!" is their call to arms.
Uniforms are avaliable to individuals seeking to join the unit.

*The Marine Plankton Rescue Unit is not an actual stranding network for plankton, rather, it's goal is to educate people with humor about these amazing flora and fauna. Our ultimate goal is to have plankton share the title of charismatic marine fauna with sea otters, whales and seals.
